The Merchant (The Duke)

Make sure you’re not selling something you want to keep. Sell weapons only to trade hardware and leave any ammo out of its clip.

Unlockables

When starting a new game, it should be understood that most of the weapons and equipment will not be available to you. Some items are unlocked by your progress in the game. You often have the opportunity to acquire them a little earlier in the game. Other items have unlock conditions, such as completing all chapters of the game, or upgrading certain weapons to the maximum of all categories – or both.

Upgrades

Upgrades are unlocked gradually as you progress. Completing a new subchapter is the standard, and the number of subchapters raises the threshold for upgrades before the game will refuse further upgrades.

Harvesting & Looting: Tips

Your first playthrough is a roller coaster ride, full of surprises as you navigate your budget. Ammo shortages, lack of money and inventory resource management will force you to learn the value of each item. But as you progress and gain wealth, you will upgrade your weapons and become even more powerful against monsters. The later stages of the game are a very different experience, as you will replay areas looking for secrets and treasures, using your greater knowledge and power to see more of the game.

You will also find areas that are ripe for harvesting. Some areas are better for scavenging than others.
