Let’s talk about Splash 3…

My name is Botox Media, and today I’m doing an update with Caleb on the Splatoon 3 discussion.Let's talk about Splash 3...

We were going to do a discussion after the Nintendo Direct in February, but we never got around to it, so I thought it would be a good time to get our thoughts out here before any upcoming Nintendo Director II and III Directs, and I’m not quite sure what your actual full opinion is on this game Caleb, I’ll be honest with you, I know I’m probably going to be hated for this, I really don’t understand why this game exists, they haven’t really shown us the reason for that, so, uh, let’s start with you, what are you, what’s your current stance on what used to be two and three, because it’s I mean, I liked the first two games.
Let's talk about Splash 3...
I mean I loved the first two games and I’m probably going to love this one as well so obviously I’m going to buy it at launch but again, I should say to interrupt you, I’m excited about this game I just don’t see any reason for them to make another game yeah, the only thing I care about right now is the single player version of the game because the multiplayer is obviously going to be the same yeah, I mean it doesn’t need to be the same I mean, yeah, it’s going to have some of the same modes if it’s going to have turf battles, it’s going to have tower control, maybe you know splat zones, but there should be more modes, so when we see the February livestream so when we see the February livestream, I’m expecting some new stuff, even like a story mode, we haven’t seen that much, we’ve seen like you know the destroyed Eiffel Tower and like seemingly free roaming kind of, I wanted to see something more or something completely new showing Samurai, I think it was I think that’s probably the worst thing they’ve done to get me excited about this game, I love Sam and Run, that’s something you should have at the end of Splatoon Focus Direct, I don’t think that’s something you’re selling to everybody or even just seeing more regular multiplayer, which I think would have been better.
Let's talk about Splash 3...
But I think they’re going to focus more on salmon runs and salmon schools this time around, because obviously they were introduced in the last game.
Let's talk about Splash 3...
I think they’re going to fit into the story mode plot yeah, because you’ve got a little guy following you around, which you haven’t had in the past oh yeah, I like it, I like it, it’s good, $60 yeah, so I think they’re going to be more involved in the plot.
Let's talk about Splash 3...
So I think they’re going to be more involved in the plot, just like the Octolings were more involved in the October expansion Yeah, so, isn’t there another race, isn’t there, but there’s a fourth race, there’s this, it’s the Octoling stamina, there’s other stuff, isn’t there, there’s… There’s a bunch of other creatures who aren’t really acting, are they? Am I kidding? And there’s like urchin like things, but well there’s only two, I’m not sure I’m thinking of them, I mean there’s a lot of other things, obviously you see like stores, yeah, there’s a lot of things like that because I’ve been thinking, I’m going to say well they’re going to set up a fourth game in this because they’re pretty consistent in each game, they set up the next game , if you even go back to school and there’s two and one last splatfest where they choose who’s going to be brought in yeah I don’t know, I just lost Splatoon 1, I played the hell out of Splatoon 2, I played a decent amount and then I was excited about this game, I like multiplayer, I just Nintendo’s usually better than that, which Means you know weird? That might sound a little pretentious Nintendo’s usually better than just releasing this game like if they released Mario Kart 9 ironically if they released Mario Kart 8 it’s the same as Mario Kart 8 but with more tracks which is funny because everybody wants to do that yeah but the difference is but the difference is that Mario Kart 8 is already very old, Assassin’s Creed 2 is old, but at a certain point, they can update it, they can add another expansion, right? Doing a game where every system in the franchise, now the switch seems to only have half the life cycle if we believe that it makes sense to do a refresh like we get you know another Zelda we get another Xenoblade we get another Fire Warrior might have them so I think that might be their process but we’re not going to get a new Mario Kart and I think that’s completely different situation because that game sold really well but we’ll have yeah that’s another discussion yeah I don’t know it’s just weird to me
