Weapons

Experimenting with hardware will reveal very different advantages and applications. As the options open up, choose and equip your weapon according to the situation. Of course, RE8 recognizes good game sense: the shotgun excels at close range crowd control and knockback when you’re under attack from multiple aggressors. Once your enemy starts returning fire, you’ll appreciate the safe and desirable distance provided by the rifle scope. But there is an additional tactical dimension when choosing weapon upgrades and allocating resources.

It is important to consider assigning different weapons. You’ll need a “primary weapon,” which is a solid default weapon for dealing with lesser threats and lesser vermin without overdoing it. Pistol (HG) ammunition remains the most plentiful for both, and a fully upgraded pistol can become a powerful cannon in later chapters.

Some weapons are clearly less effective than others. so is it possible to ignore those altogether? Not necessarily. Likewise, some ammo types are very rare, and if only use one specific weapon, then it will be depleted even faster.

When evaluating the value and power of a weapon, consider both its upgraded potential and ammunition availability. Look for special features and bonuses, such as critical hit rate or piercing potential.

Items

Healing Items:

Healthy living is a matter of anticipation and prevention. The first rule is that you should always plan to keep at least one restorative therapy item, or more if inventory slots allow, for unavoidable emergencies. The second rule is managing risk. You wouldn’t waste herbs when got scratched, but what if you’re at half health? If you encounter a healing item that you can’t carry, use the healing items you have to restore yourself and replenish those slots. When you finish the chapter, store the remaining health items, provided that most chapters will try to give you replacements at the beginning.

Herbs can be combined to make more powerful medications.

Special items:

In some stages, you may encounter unique items, such as keys, These items will not appear in your inventory, but on your monitor. There are also some unique heavy items that can be wielded when they are picked up and held.
